Banana and grass, not the kind you smoke.
Beautiful weather today, Kevin and I finally got outside to plant. He had fun with the pitch fork and driving the tractor around the backyard, what boy wouldn't! We planted the 4 banana (Musa bajoo), the grasses (Panicum virgatum Dallas Blues PP, Panicum virgatum Blue Fountain PPAF, and Muhlenbergia capillaris), Hardy Sugar Cane (Saccharum arundinaceum), and the Double White Angel Trumpet (Brugmansia x candida 'Double White').
I waited to plant longer than I wanted too due to a two day cold snap. Some weren't the happiest when they went into the ground so fingers crossed. There were two old bananas and two young ones. The older plants were insanely root bound, I will pay attention to see if that has any effect growth. I can't wait to smell the Angle Trumpet at night in the screened in porch, while watching for fireflies and drinking a glass of wine! Maybe the move to NC wasn't such a bad idea. If you don't know by now, sarcasm is and will be oozing from these posts. Throw in a bit of buttheadedness and there you go, aren't you glad you don't have to live with me?
The grass went in between our driveway and the neighbors. Hopefully that will provide a nice green screen. The sugar cane should be almost 15 feet tall and the others between 6 and 8. They are supposed to be deer resistant, here's hoping.

More planting on tap for tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to get the shade garden, the back of the garage, screened in porch, and some seedlings done. Off to cook dinner, can't wait for things to start producing!
